The Phantom Creeps review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:44 (A review of The Phantom Creeps)

Back in 1939 this was a 20 minute 12 episode feature that was edited into a movie 10 years later. If you have 4 hours to watch this crap then I salute you big time! I only watched it once because I like to see everything through till the end and give it a chance. There is so much wrong with this that I could write a novel talking about it. The biggest problem is the editing. The whole movie is a fucking mess. It's not that your lost as to what is going on it's just there is so much shit that just appears out of no where and it leaves you laughing. People seem to survive firey car crashes and planes that nose dive from 10,000 feet. If your curious I recommend seeing the movie, not the 265 minute original.

No Night is Too Long review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:44 (A review of No Night is Too Long)

This is a great movie and I've loved it since I first saw it on Showcase TV. It's a Canadian film and one of the more unique modern thriller murder mysteries I've seen simply because it is very gay. I personally have no problem with that and I honestly find the male actors pretty damn good looking too. There's also some heterosexual love, which makes this movie better because of the bi-sexual triangle going on during the movie. The acting is great, the dialogue is awesome, music is good, and of course the great Alaska scenery is wicked. The plot is very well done too!! This is #3 in my favourite Top 3 gay movies, next to 'Love and Human Remains' and 'Relax... It's Just Sex'.

Night of the Living Dead review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:43 (A review of Night of the Living Dead)

This movie will forever be linked with starting the zombie craze and I believe it was also the first horror movie to star a African American, being Duane Jones. His acting is what makes this film and he shows off as a great leader that eventually doesn't make it in the end. I'm not a fan of remakes to much but I actually like the remake a bit better than the original. This one still holds up well today and I watch it often still. The best part about this film is the way it opens. Brother and sister fighting while visiting a relatives grave and you think everything is peaceful, but you slowly find out it's not and it's only the beginning.

"They're coming to get you Barbara!!!"

Night of the Demons 3 review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:43 (A review of Night of the Demons 3)

I bought this movie for two reasons. 1) It completes my NotD's collection and 2) It was $6 brand new. I knew this movie was going to be bad because I watched the first 10 minutes on Youtube. There is so much wrong with this movie but one big item that makes it suck is how boring the plot is. You can't really tell that it's suppose to take place on halloween at all because there's only three sets. The inside of some chicks house, a store on a highway, and Hull House. Hull House looks completely different too so it makes it seem like this is not even part of the previous two movies.

Another odd thing is the name "Angela" isn't even mentioned in the movie, even though the same actress is playing her, so again it doesn't make it feel like it's part of the other two movies. Acting sucks of course but one thing that made me give this movie 2 stars instead of 1 is TITS! There are a lot of tits in this movie and it has some of the most pointless tit shots in movie history! Saying all this I am glad I own it and I'm also glad it only cost me $6 too.

Night of the Demons 2 review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:42 (A review of Night of the Demons 2)

I own the first one and I think this movie is a great follow up. It's horror with some intentional comedy, even if some of it's bad. Some of the effects in this movie are pretty cool and if your a metal fan your gonna love it because there's death metal in this movie!!! During a party they play two Morbid Angel tracks, "Rapture" and "Vengeance is Mine". If you like tits as well there's lots of those in this movie. Some of the tits turn into hands too. The best scene in this movie is when the lipstick turns into this gross looking long worm thing and crawls up this girls leg and into her vagina, no shit! It's hot!

Mr. Sardonicus (1961) review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:41 (A review of Mr. Sardonicus (1961))

This was a pretty interesting movie. It's not one of William Castles best but it was watchable. There is some pretty nasty looking torture scenes done for its time as well and although one never really gets scared watching it it has that creepy atmosphere to it. There was suppose to be alternate endings to this movie as well, which was another one of Williams many gimmics, but for some reason not all of these endings were brought to every theatre. The audience was allowed to pick how the ending of the movie took place! Ironicly they could be used for a DVD now-a-days so I think William had a great idea in mind at the time. In short, if you see this movie it's worth a watch for sure but again, it's not one of my favourites by him. I had heard that William got the idea for this film by seeing Les yeux sans visage [Eyes Without a Face] and after watching that one it is really obvious that he did...you should see that one too. You can watch this movie for free on Youtube and download it on Archive.org as well.

Missile to the Moon review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:40 (A review of Missile to the Moon)

This is your standard sci-fi B-movie of the 50's. It has the bad effects, odd plot and crap dialogue. Oddly this is a remake of the other shit film Cat-Women of the Moon. What I did like about this DVD version was the features and the awesome color transfer. The actors clearly aren't wearing any make up but the color version has the aliens as blue. I'm going to have to check out more from this company now.

Dames Featured:
*Miss Florida
*Miss New Hampshire
*Miss Yugoslavia
*Miss NY State
*Miss France
*Miss Illinios
*Miss Germany
*Miss Minnesota

Things I Learned:
*Prisoners like to hide in rockets.
*Alien woman are still prone to camel toes (Alpha).
*Folded cloth still counts as background in a low buget film.
*The moon's surface has no oxygen, but an open cave on the surface does.
*Rock aliens move slow... but we knew that already.
*Takes only two seconds to be burned to the bone on the moon's surface.

DVD Features:
*Color Version
*B/W Version
*Sci-fi Toy Commercials (9:43)
*Classic Movie Trailers (House on Haunted Hill, Reefer Madness [Tell Your Children], Carnival of Souls, Night of the Living Dead, Plan 9 From Outer Space) All movie trailers are featured in color.

The Philadelphia Experiment 2 review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:39 (A review of The Philadelphia Experiment 2)

This movie is the product when someone directes, produces, writes and creates the score. It sucks! Everyone talks to themselves, mainly to have the viewer know what's going on I guess. There's this annoying little kid that I just want to shoot as well. There are good actors in this movie, which is the only reason why I watched this garbage. It's sad because Part I was actually watchable but if you think this one is bad, just wait until you see Part III...it's even worse!

Metamorphosis review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 2 January 2012 12:38 (A review of Metamorphosis)

This movie had a lot going for it but it was ruined by the ending. The basic story of this movie is about a scientist working on a serum which will stop human aging, but of course something goes wrong. His funding is cut off so he has to test the serum on himself and thus the fun begins. The makeup effects in this movie are pretty good and it has the "The Fly" quality to it at times (the remake version), but like I said, the ending is just garbage and you end up laughing when you see what the final result is.
